Pull Together with BCR for a Stronger Baltimore
In 2022, Baltimore Community Rowing served 160 adult athletes, 123 middle and high school athletes, and 80 students through community partnerships. BCR is a regional resource for community rowing in the Baltimore metro area, and we are still growing.
BCR is nationally recognized for increasing diversity in the sport of rowing and is entering its second decade supporting Baltimore City students through Reach High Baltimore. Reach High provides middle and high school students from Baltimore City Public Schools with access to high-level training and racing in the sport of rowing in addition to fee assistance, transportation assistance, and summer job opportunities. In 2023 BCR is expanding its community partnerships to connect even more residents of the Baltimore metro area to the water
To continue to grow our community mission, BCR is kicking off its Annual Campaign to support a multi-year boat replacement and fleet expansion plan. Training and racing are the heart of our sport, broadening horizons and providing lessons in teamwork, perseverance, and resiliency. BCR strives to keep program fees reasonable, using grant funds to support fee assistance, provide no-cost programming to community partners, and direct services to our rowers. As a result, we are using our Annual Campaign to add more seats to our fleet and save toward a larger trailer that will allow our growing juniors and adult programs to travel together to regional and national races.
As rowers know, you only get to your goal by working together. Thank you for pulling together for a stronger Baltimore and considering a donation to support these vital resources as we grow!
